Mobile Science Lab
The Mobile Science Lab program of Project 511 launched in April 2008 aims at improving science education in Government high schools. Under this program, science practical’s are demonstrated to children studying in Class VI – X in Government high schools by a Mobile Science Lab with two qualified teachers. Each Mobile Science Lab covers 10 Government high schools by visiting one school per day. In a year, the syllabus for science experiments in Physics, Chemistry and Biology are completed along with revisions in 15 sessions.
  • In the first year of operations, the practicals were demonstrated to the children after explanation of the theory using a laptop and projector. From the second year of operations till date, the emphasis is on the children having a hands-on experience by doing the experiments themselves.

  • The teachers of Mobile Science Lab have documented every experiment in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for Classes VI – X in a manual. The manual has been reviewed by five experts in the field of science. The manual has already passed through several phases of improvisation after the reviews. A meeting with the science teachers of our Mobile Science Lab schools was also held to include their feedback and suggestions in the manual. The manual (in Telugu) is in the final stages of completion and will be printed shortly for use by teachers in Government schools.
